Film still from RAPUNZEL, LET DOWN YOUR HAIR: The drawing shows a young person with long blonde braids on the left. On the right side of the picture, opposite her, are three stooped figures wrapped in dark hooded coats, so that their faces cannot be seen.

RAPUNZEL, LET DOWN YOUR HAIR was the first feature-length production by the London Women's Film Group: It consists of variations on a Grimm fairy tale from a feminist perspective, as film noir, animated film and melodrama. "…a very attractive, perceptive film, which encompasses several knotty problems relevant to feminism today. Breaking with a traditional narrative, Rapunzel's story is retold and reinterpreted, each version using a different movie genre accompanied by a wonderful music score. […] Fairytales were always appealing, but they never made quite so much sense." (Time Out London)
